New Horizons for Seniors Program Now Accepting Applications
June 2, 2026
The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is now accepting applications for community-based projects that support seniors in Guelph and across Canada. As a federal grants and contributions program, the NHSP provides funding for initiatives that improve the lives of seniors while strengthening community connections and inclusion. The program is designed to empower seniors and promote active participation in community life. Funded projects aim to encourage volunteerism across generations, support mentorship opportunities, increase awareness of elder abuse—including financial abuse—and enhance social participation and inclusion. Funding is also available to support both new and existing community programs, as well as capital projects that benefit seniors. Community-based organizations can apply for up to $50,000 in funding for projects lasting up to one year. Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to explore how their initiatives can contribute to building more inclusive, supportive environments for seniors.
