High School:

OYAP-FAST is an accelerated stream of OYAP that allows students in Grade 11 and 12 to participate in more apprenticeship learning while working towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Great opportunity to earn high school co-op education credits in a skilled trade and get a head start towards completing an apprenticeship:
Who should apply: Students enrolled in Grade 11 or 12 and at least 15 years old who are interested in mastering a trade!

(From Website) Rising Youth is an exciting program that empowers young people all across Canada to shape our country by giving back to their community. Through micro-grants of $250, $750, and $1500, #RisingYouth supports community service projects led by youth!

Through this program, you can get start-up money to kick-off a summer business along with advice and mentorship from local business leaders to get your future business up and off the ground in the summer! With a maximum award of $3,000, this program can help students ignite a successful business.

This unique experience brings together students from across Ontario for a three-day Model Parliament Program in Toronto. Students will have the opportunity to play the role of an MPP – a Member of Provincial Parliament – and learn how parliament works through a series of workshops and presdentations.

Explore has been changing participants’ lives for over 50 years, so we’re confident that you’ll have the time of your life.
Who should apply:
Destination Clic (through Explore) → Participants must be enrolled in Grade 8 before the first day of the session.
Explore → 16-17 age groups; 18+ age groups.

The House of Commons Page Program offers first-year university students a unique opportunity to work in the Chamber, support Members of Parliament, and gain hands-on experience with our democratic process. It’s a chance to learn, connect with peers from across the country, and play a role in Parliament.

First envisioned by backbench Member of Parliament (MP) Alfred Hales in 1969, the Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP) is a unique non-partisan educational initiative that each year gives twelve recent graduates the life-changing opportunity to spend 10 months (September to June) working and studying on Parliament Hill and conducting study tours to other legislatures in Canada and abroad. Interns are enrolled as students at the University of Ottawa and receive a scholarship of $35,000 to support themselves during the Programme. Those who successfully complete the Programme will receive a graduate certificate in Public Administration.

Being a Parliamentary Guide is a unique and rewarding experience. You will:
- Work in the heart of Canadian democracy
- Welcome visitors and lead guided tours of the parliament buildings
- Learn about Canada’s Parliament through comprehensive training
Who should apply: The Library of Parliament hires bilingual students to work as guides – applicants must either be University students enrolled in a Canadian institution, or college students who hold a University Degree
